Morgan County Record Contacts

This is a private reference site, not a government office. We cannot confirm whether someone is in custody or released, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Please use the appropriate official contact or locator below for a current answer.

Morgan County Sheriff and Regional Jail

Morgan County Sheriff's Office
37 East Main Street
McConnelsville, OH 43756
Phone: 740-962-4044
Official site: Morgan County Sheriff contact page
Sheriff: James R. Fisher

The official website lists sheriff@mcso58.us. A Sheriff PDF displays a different address, so verify the current email with the office before sending sensitive correspondence. The anonymous tip line is 740-962-1369; it is for law-enforcement information, not public discussion. For an emergency, call 911. Do not approach, confront, or try to detain anyone.

Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail (SEORJ)
16677 Riverside Drive
Nelsonville, OH 45764
Receptionist: 740-753-4060
Booking fax: 740-753-4061
Official links: SEORJ inmate information and the current JDS regional roster.

SEORJ is the regional facility serving Morgan and neighboring counties. Its roster is a current report rather than a promised historical archive, so check its printed run date and the arresting-agency field. SEORJ does not publish a dedicated booking-photo request form or public historical-booking archive in the researched sources.

Court searches can provide case activity, but are not a complete warrant check and may omit sealed or restricted matters. A booking charge is an allegation, not a conviction. For a current case status or copies, use the court or clerk that maintains the matter.

Where to Look for a Specific Custody Stage

  • Current regional custody or booking fields: begin with the SEORJ JDS roster, then contact SEORJ or the Morgan County Sheriff if a record request is needed.
  • Morgan case activity after booking: use Common Pleas CourtView or County CourtView, then the clerk for copies or procedural questions.
  • State prison or community-supervision record: search the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction offender database. It is not a county booking feed.
  • Federal custody: use the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator.
  • Immigration detention: use the ICE Online Detainee Locator System where applicable.
  • Existing public records: a focused request to the likely custodian can be made under ORC 149.43. Identify the person, approximate date, agency, and record sought. Copy or delivery charges may apply.
